Man accused of breaking criminal law for drug trafficking

Following a drug bust at a supermarket parking lot, one man has recently been arrested in Warren County. The Missouri authorities suspect that the man violated criminal law and attempted to make a drug delivery. The man has been arrested and charged with first-degree drug trafficking.

The authorities with the East Central Drug Task Force claim to have surveyed a potential drug delivery at the supermarket parking lot. However, what led them to suspect that there was drug activity at the parking lot is unclear. Regardless, the officers decided to make contact with the 32-year-old after he supposedly acted suspiciously.

The authorities brought a K9 Unit to the parking lot, and the dog allegedly alerted the authorities to the possible presence of drugs within a parked car. The officers then searched the vehicle, and they supposedly found five pounds of methamphetamine, which is worth an estimated $272,000 on the street. The officers arrested the man and accused him of drug trafficking. He is currently in police custody in lieu of a $500,000 cash only bond.

Despite the evidence that the Missouri authorities claim to have against the man, criminal law dictates that he remains innocent in the eyes of the law until, and only if, proved guilty. While he faces a very serious criminal charge, he will have various options from which to choose when forming his criminal defense, just like any other defendant. The man has the right to form his defense in a manner that he deems most beneficial for his specific circumstances.
