3 begin criminal defense for burglary accusations

Three people were arrested in an otherwise vacant house near Columbia. The investigating Missouri officer believed that the three were attempting to burglarize the house, and they were arrested after supposedly attempting to flee. Each individual must now focus on preparing their criminal defense in anticipation of a trial.

The local police officers believed that the vacant house had been burglarized recently, so they supposedly decided to check the location again. An officer claims that, as he approached, he purportedly saw three people running away. The first man was arrested in a vehicle, and the officer called for K9 units as well as other officers for assistance. Eventually, a second man and a woman were also arrested.

Each of the accused individuals was charged with suspicion of second-degree burglary, first-degree property damage, felony stealing and possession of burglary tools. The second man faces additional charges of felony resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. The woman faces additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and felony resisting arrest. The first man posted bail and is not currently in police custody, but the second man and the woman are being held on a $23,000 and $27,000 bond, respectively.

The second man and the woman both have prior criminal histories dating back several years. However, a past criminal history does not indicate guilt in the current criminal case. Additionally, no matter the allegations that these three accused individuals face, they still have the right to challenge any accusation brought against them in their criminal defense as their cases head to a Missouri criminal courtroom.
