Missouri man arrested, accused of assault on officers

It is difficult to imagine how a person would react to a confrontation with police officers. While some people might obediently submit, others may fear for their safety as a result of recent media attention on police brutality. Unfortunately, one man in Missouri was recently arrested after he was accused of assault following an interaction with two police officers.

The alleged incident happened one afternoon on a day in June. According to police, they were called to the scene of a church after they received reports of a man who was refusing to leave the church's sanctuary. Officers claim that when they arrived on the scene, they discovered that the man had a hammer and a bat.

The also claim that the man failed to cooperate with their requests. Although they report that they used both a taser and pepper spray on the man to subdue him, he escaped. He was arrested approximately 20 minutes later and now faces multiple charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer. Although it is unclear if the officers were injured during the alleged altercation, a representative for the police department claims that they did not seek treatment at the hospital.

In addition to the injuries of the officers, there are other issues surrounding the alleged incident in Missouri and resulting assault charges that are unclear, including why the man was at the church. Everyone accused of a crime has the right to an attorney who can help guide them through the criminal justice process. By having a legal professional on their side, they can have more confidence that, if unlawful treatment occurs, proper action will be taken to rectify it.
