DWI CHARGES FOLLOW 2-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN MISSOURI

Because drivers in Missouri spend so much time on the road, it may be easy to take for granted certain issues surrounding driving. For example, something as simple as failing to notice a red light can have serious consequences, even though such an event can easily occur. In fact, a man in Missouri is now facing a DWI charge following a recent collision involving a missed traffic light.

The incident that led to the man’s arrest happened during the afternoon hours of a day in early January. According to reports, the 24-year-old man failed to stop at a traffic light. As a result, his vehicle reportedly struck a sedan driven by a 23-year-old woman as she attempted to make a left turn.

Reports indicate that the man’s vehicle struck the front of the sedan, causing the latter to spin. Police say that the male driver left the scene, but his vehicle was discovered parked in a parking lot soon after. He is said to have suffered moderate injuries in the accident; the other driver was uninjured.

Despite the DWI allegations against the man, it is unclear what evidence supports these claims. Following an accident such as this, a person — especially a person who has been injured — may behave unexpectedly. As a result of the allegations, the man is left facing decisions that will likely have a significant impact on his future — decisions that he may be unprepared to make on his own. Fortunately, there are experienced professionals in Missouri who can help those facing criminal charges fully understand the options available to them and the potential consequences of each.
