Police in Missouri recently conducted an investigation that has apparently resulted in one man’s arrest. The situation reportedly involves allegations regarding possession of drugs. State law provides for those accused of such crimes by allowing them an opportunity to present as strong a defense as possible in court.

This particular investigation was launched by law enforcement agents on a recent Saturday in Hamilton. No information was given regarding exactly how long investigators worked before an arrest was made. It is known, however, that at some point, a 35-year-old man was placed under arrest and charged with multiple drug-related crimes.

The man is accused of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, possessing a controlled substance and possessing while intending to distribute methamphetamine. In Missouri, such crimes may carry severe penalties if convicted. It is possible that someone convicted of these crimes would spend time in prison and be ordered to pay hefty monetary fines.

The man in this situation was being held in a county detention center on a cash-only bond of $50,000. An arraignment was scheduled in a circuit county court. Obviously, anyone in Missouri accused of possession of drugs or other drug-related activities will want to do what is necessary to minimize the potential negative effects such allegations may have on his or her future. A logical choice to make toward that end is to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible to begin building a strong defense and determining how best to combat any tactics or strategies the prosecution may set forth in court.
