Anyone who has been a victim of theft likely knows of the helpless feeling that comes with such an event. Often, some may feel that law enforcement officers do not do enough to help them resolve their issues. Unfortunately, a man in Missouri who allegedly took matters into his own hands after his car was stolen now faces criminal charges, including assault.

Police say that the incident ultimately led to a shooting that injured two teenagers. According to reports, a 31-year-old man was able to track down his vehicle using GPS after he claims it was stolen. Reports also state that the car owner discovered the car running and opened the door to find that three male juveniles were inside the vehicle.

According to reports, the man said that one of the passengers in the vehicle reached for his waistband. The man then allegedly pulled out a gun and began shooting. Two of the occupants, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Reports indicate that a 17-year-old has admitted to being in the vehicle when the alleged shooting happened and to driving the vehicle.

The older man is now charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Now, as a result of the charges, he is left to make critical decisions that will have a significant impact on the rest of his life. Unfortunately, the Missouri man may feel that he does not have enough information about his options to respond appropriately. As such, he may choose to seek guidance from an experienced professional who can ensure that he has the information that he needs to make informed decisions.
