MISSOURI WOMAN ACCUSED OF DRUNK DRIVING FOLLOWING CRASH

Even drivers who have spent hundreds of hours behind the wheel of a vehicle have moments when they panic while driving. A slight miscalculation can easily cause someone to overcorrect, resulting in an accident. Despite this, police in Missouri believe that a woman was drunk driving when she was reportedly involved in a single-vehicle accident that sent her to the hospital.

The accident that resulted in the woman’s arrest happened just before 7 p.m. on a day in mid-May. According to reports, a 26-year-old woman’s car ran off the road and struck guardrails several times before ultimately coming to a stop after striking a large rock and several small trees. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time; reports indicate that her vehicle was totaled.

The woman reportedly suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was transported to the hospital. A spokesperson for the hospital reports that the woman was treated and released. However, she was arrested at the hospital. It is unclear what her blood alcohol content was at the time of the accident or how it was determined.

Despite the lack of clarity regarding certain issues surrounding the accident, the woman is now accused of drunk driving and is left to make a determination regarding how to respond to the claims against her. While this could include fighting the charges in court or accepting a plea deal — if offered — she may not feel as if she has the necessary information to make an informed decision. Fortunately, there are experienced professionals in Missouri who can help guide her throughout the process.
