WIFE BEGINS CRIMINAL DEFENSE, ACCUSED OF KILLING HUSBAND

After over two years, the Warsaw authorities have arrested a suspect accused of being involved with the death of a man. The Missouri authorities believe that the man’s wife is the person who shot and killed him in 2012. However, as she begins to form her criminal defense, she retains the presumption of innocence until — and only if — proved guilty in a court of law.

In Nov. 2012, the wife called the authorities to tell them that her husband had been killed. Initially, when the investigators arrived at the scene, they suspected that there had been a break-in at the residence and that the husband had been killed during the crime. However, now the investigators suspect that the wife is actually the person who killed her husband.

During the initial investigation, the wife had told the authorities that she had left the house to get ice cream, but when she came back, she found her husband dead. Why the authorities have decided to suspect her of murder two years after the crime was committed is unclear. Any possible evidence, as well as any potential motive, has not been publicly released.

The 53-year-old Missouri woman is now being held on a $1 million bond for purportedly killing her husband of 36 years. Many options will be available to her in her criminal defense, and she will be given the opportunity to choose which among those options will be likely to produce the most favorable outcome. She also has specific legal rights granted to her by our state that she would do well to safeguard.
