After a year-long investigation by several Missouri law enforcement agencies, 11 people were arrested and accused of drug crimes. Three more individuals were subsequently arrested for possible drug activity during the investigation. Each of the individuals face Missouri criminal accusations for possession of drugs and other drug-related offenses.
The Missouri Highway Patrol, along with local forces such as the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group and the Lebanon Police Department, worked together on the investigation. The operation focused mainly on the possession of methamphetamine and morphine. The investigation also involved the intent to distribute or sale of illegal substances such as prescription drugs and marijuana. Eleven people were arrested in connection with the main investigation, but the officers made three more arrests after conducting a traffic stop.
The ages of the persons arrested varied from 30 to 60 years old, and the bond has been set between $25,000 and $50,000 for the 11 arrested in connection with the drug sweep. Most of the 11 were charged with possession of meth, and other charges included misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. For the three arrested during the traffic stop, they each face felony charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, possession of meth and possession of drug precursors.
When an individual is accused of being in possession of drugs in Missouri, they are very serious accusations that could potentially have very serious consequences. However, each accused person has certain legal rights that they are entitled to during their criminal processes.
