Woman likely wants to create criminal defense after felony charge

When individuals are in certain situations, they may make unwise choices that they might not have followed through with under other circumstances. In some cases, a party may allegedly perform an illegal act because he or she is being driven by personal issues. As a result, an individual could be faced with serious charges, such as theft. In such a situation, the party may want to try to handle the circumstances as best as he or she can and assess his or her criminal defense choices.

One woman in Missouri may be hoping to build a strong defense after being taken into custody. It was reported that the woman allegedly stole more than $5,000 from city funds. The money was reportedly taken out through a permit fund that was connected to the building inspector’s office.

The accused woman had reportedly worked as a permit clerk before being promoted to building inspector. The report also stated that the woman allegedly collected money for permits but purportedly did not deposit the money while she was working as the permit clerk. She is currently facing felony theft charges relating to the situation. She was taken into custody but was released after posting a $15,000 bond.

The woman will likely want to prepare for the legal implications of facing felony theft charges. These charges could result in serious consequences if she is convicted, and therefore, she will likely want to work toward avoiding such an outcome. Exploring her criminal defense options could potentially help her determine how to build a meaningful defense that she will feel comfortable utilizing in a Missouri court.
