When individuals in Missouri face felony charges, the stakes are higher. The fundamental freedom of an accused person is in jeopardy. Typically, the first practical step is to consider having one’s legal rights protected by an experienced criminal defense attorney.

A 28-year-old man was recently taken into custody on burglary charges. The sequence of events that led to his arrest started when a Four Seasons resident contracted with a pest control company to treat her home. She reports that an employee of the company arrived and treated the inside of the residence. When that was completed, she says she locked the doors and left the property, leaving the pest controller to continue treatment of the exterior of the residence. However, she was taken aback when she returned later to find the exterminator’s truck still parked in her driveway.

The homeowner entered the house and came upon the pest controller in her bedroom. He drove away from the house and allegedly got involved in a hit-and-run accident. Investigators went to his place of employment, and the man who drove the truck at the time of the hit-and-run accident was identified. Officers say they found the jewelry pieces that were reported stolen in the burglary incident in the suspect’s possession.

The Missouri man is now facing a first-degree burglary charge, which is a Class B felony. Considering the significant impact a criminal conviction could have on an individual’s personal and professional life, the need for having an experienced criminal defense attorney is apparent. A lawyer can comb through the police records and challenge the prosecution’s version of the facts, when appropriate. The client’s legal options can be explained, and while aiming to achieve a favorable outcome, guidance and support will be provided through all phases of the criminal justice proceedings.
