When a person is being questioned regarding possible involvement in a crime, he or she may be intimidated by authority figures and unaware of his or her rights. As a result, many people in Missouri request a lawyer during the earliest stages of an investigation. Such a professional can help those suspected of a crime fully understand the potential implications of the answers they provide police. Four people in Missouri have recently been charged with assault after police questioned one of the people they believe were involved in an alleged beating.

The incident that led to their arrests reportedly happened in the early morning hours of a day in mid-April. The alleged victim, a male, was reportedly in a vehicle owned by one of the defendants, an 18-year-old female. Both the owner of the vehicle and another defendant, a 19-year-old male, were said to be in the vehicle with him. The victim claims that after he exited the vehicle, he was attacked by two other people who had allegedly been hiding in the bushes. He claims he was beaten with a bat and thrown against the vehicle with such force that a window broke.

Police say that they found the damaged vehicle and questioned the owner. She reportedly confessed to the incident and named the others as well. All four have since been arrested. The alleged attack was reportedly in retaliation for an incident in which the victim reportedly pulled a gun on one of the defendants. The victim claims that he required several staples in his head as well as stitches.

As a result of the incident, four young people in Missouri are accused of assault. As they navigate through the criminal justice system, they must make several important decisions that will likely have a significant impact on the rest of their lives. Fortunately, an attorney with experience with such cases can help from the earliest stages of a crime.
