DRUNK DRIVING SUSPECTED IN FATAL MISSOURI CRASH

On Behalf of | Sep 28, 2017 | Firm News

For those who have been driving on Missouri roads for years, the experience of failing to notice a red light or not noticing one in time to stop is likely familiar. While these incidents likely happen relatively frequently, they do not always result in a crash. Unfortunately, one man in Missouri who police say failed to stop at a traffic light is now accused of drunk driving.

Reports indicate that a 28-year-old man was driving on a Missouri roadway during the early morning hours of a day in September. Police say that the man failed to stop at a traffic light. As a result, they believe that he struck the side of a vehicle traveling through the intersection.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 41-year-old man, died after being transported to the hospital. The younger driver has since been charged with driving while intoxicated. He is currently being held on a bond of $100,000.

Many people in Missouri who have no legal training and experience often feel overwhelmed when facing criminal charges. They are often unfamiliar with both their rights and how to ensure that they are protected as well as the process of the criminal court. As a result, those accused of drunk driving and other criminal charges often seek advice from an attorney who has experience defending people from criminal accusations. Such a professional can ensure that defendants are fully informed about their case, including their options and the potential consequences of each. Having such knowledge can give people facing criminal charges confidence as they respond to the claims against them.
