When a crime occurs, police are often left to put together the pieces of a puzzle to determine what exactly happened. Even though some scenes are complicated, police often come to a conclusion before they have even had an opportunity to fully examine all of the available evidence. In fact, a man in Missouri has recently found himself facing a murder charge following the death of his father.

The incident that led to the man’s arrest reportedly happened in the early morning hours of a day in April. Reports indicate that the call was classified as “nature unknown.” However, police say that when they arrived on the scene, the discovered the bodies of two men.

A 39-year-old man, the son of one of the men and nephew of the other, was reportedly at the scene and taken into custody. According to police reports, the man admitted to smoking PCP with his uncle before his father stabbed the latter. Afterward, the man claimed that he was in a bedroom smoking with his father when his father indicated that it was going to be “you or me.” Police claim the man said that he then picked up a knife and stabbed his father, resulting in his death.

After experiencing an unexpected loss, many people in Missouri may not be fully prepared to discuss the events rationally, especially if the loss involved a family member and the situation involving the death also included the threat of personal harm. As a result, many people who are suspected or accused of a crime choose to seek professional guidance even during the early stages of a murder investigation. With a professional by their side, they are often more aware of the potential implications of the information they provide.
