A car accident can happen at any moment in time and for a variety of different reasons. Unfortunately, the consequences can be tragic regardless of their cause. In fact, a recent crash in Missouri has led to drug charges, among others.

The incident happened on a day in late September. According to reports, a 22-year-old male was headed west on a Missouri road when he struck a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man. The first vehicle continued into oncoming traffic, striking a westbound vehicle driven by a 60-year-old man. The driver of the second vehicle reportedly overcorrected after traveling to the right side of the road, causing the vehicle to cross the centerline and strike the westbound vehicle.

Unfortunately, the driver of the latter vehicle passed away. The driver of the second vehicle was arrested following the crash, charged with not having a license and driving while intoxicated. Rescue workers claim that the driver of the first vehicle and his 21-year-old female passenger asked several times about a black bag in their vehicle. Police claim it contained drugs and drug paraphernalia. They were each charged with delivery of methamphetamine.

Regardless of whether a person faces drug charges or allegations of DWI, the criminal justice system can be daunting. Often, people in Missouri facing criminal charges are unsure about their options and lack confidence in the decisions that they make. Fortunately, there are experienced criminal defense attorneys who can help ensure that defendants have the information they need to make informed decisions.
