Missouri woman charged for alleged statutory rape

Allegations of crimes that involve minors can be sensitive situations to approach. If an individual is accused of having sexual interactions with an underage individual, the accused person could face serious charges, such as statutory rape. Because such circumstances can be delicate as well as result in substantial punishment in the event of a conviction, individuals will likely want to ensure that their legal interests are protected. Individuals accused of such crimes may want to determine the best tactics for approaching their defense.

One woman in Missouri is likely hoping to make the most out of her situation after being taken into custody. It was reported that the 20-year-old woman was accused of having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old boy. The boy’s mother was reportedly the individual who alerted the authorities to the purported situation. It is unclear how the mother became aware of the alleged incident.

The woman was interviewed by police, and she reportedly stated that she had gotten the young boy drunk and then had sex with him. The boy is said to have claimed that the woman and her roommate forced him to drink alcohol, and the woman then forced him to have sex. However, the woman claims that she did not force him to have sex with her. Nevertheless, she was being held on charges of statutory rape.

Situations such as this involving alleged sexual encounters and young individuals can be difficult for all parties involved. However, the accused woman must, of necessity, focus on the statutory rape allegations. Information on Missouri criminal proceedings relating to such cases may help her better understand her options and which strategies may be best suited for her case.
