Being accused of a crime does not constitute one’s guilt in Missouri or any of the other 49 states. There are often various options available in order to build a strong defense against charges. When allegations include sexual assault, a person’s private and professional reputation is at stake. In such cases, it is advisable to seek the assistance of an experienced criminal law attorney.
One man who owns a business in Kingsville has been accused by two women of sexual wrongdoing. One of the women’s claims dates back to 2005 when she was 17 years old. She said that she had received a massage at the man’s place of business and was videotaped during the session without permission. She also said that she took a shower following the massage and was filmed while in the shower.
Another woman told police that she was sexually assaulted by the same man at his place of business in 2014. The 52-year-old man now faces several charges, including exploitation of a minor and sexual abuse. He is reportedly being held in jail on a $50,000 bond.
Missouri residents accused of sexual assault or other criminal actions are advised to request a meeting with a defense lawyer as soon as possible after an arrest has taken place. A lawyer has a clear understanding of the various state and federal laws that govern such matters. Acting as a personal legal advocate, an attorney can review the situation and determine how best to proceed before the court in light of impending charges.
